My Braces Journey : Before Pakai Braces 😀

Assalamualaikum wbt and Hi guys…

So, hari ni saya akan share pasal my experiences pakai braces. Firstly, what you should know is;

🍀Tempat buat braces : Klinik Kerajaan di Terengganu

🌼Cost that I have to pay: RM 700 ± 20 

(because my parents not a government worker so I need to pay that amount la, yang plus minus tu ialah caj cabut gigi...sekarang,dengar2 yang parents kerja government pun kene bayar jugk...tp, not sure berapa yg diorng kene byr je...)

🍄Umur masa pasang Braces : 17 tahun

🌳Gigi kena cabut : 4 batang ( 2 atas dan bawah)

Tu je rasanya…Ok, first and foremost, common and cliché question orang selalu tanya, sakit tak pakai braces? From my experiences, masa mula2 pakai tu tak sakit langsung but you akan rasa yang besi tu sangat2 pressure gigi korang. Then, for upcoming appointment after bond up, korang akan rasa sakit at least a week la sbb dentist pendekkan besi tu or pasang power chain. Power chain sumpah cantik gile, tapi sakit laa…hahaha…

This is powerchain.Dia combined dgn gigi-gigi sebelah. But akak biasanya xdpt full powerchain n I just got 2 or 3 powerchain. Korang akan pakai ni bila gigi dah tersusun cantik and just nak rapatkan gap je.

So, my braces journey start dengan pemeriksaan gigi biasa2 je. After that, if dentist sarankan korang pakai braces, then you can go to the next stage. Next appointment, you will meet up with orthodontics. So, she/he akan tentukan if korang layak ke tak pakai braces. Diorang xambik rasanya kalau kes2 yang ringan and tak complicated. Throughout this process, the dentist will measure korang punya gigi(if overbite or openbite, senang cite, jongang ke dalam atau ke depan ). 

These are cases yg terjadi dkt gigi korang. Mostly, ialah crowding, overbite and abnormal eruption. But, apa yang akak tahu, kalau spacing yang xketara sangat, dentist xambil jugk kot kalau kes mcm ni.

Process ni susah jugak sbb diorang yang decide dgn teliti nak ambik patient ni atau x. Kalau korang lepas stage ni, you have another appointment with dentist untuk cuci gigi. Then, masa ni lah korang akan masuk dalam waiting list. Kalau masa tu, xramai yang menunggu and nasib korang baik, korang hanya perlu tunggu about 3 or 4 months.

But in my cases, I terlepas pandang pasal ni and hospital tu salah call I bcause I give a wrong phone number…hahaha…bcause of that, I terpaksa tunggu almost a year.

After that, you need to fill a form pasal nak cabut gigi, xray dan sbgainya. Before that, korang kene buat acuan gigi dulu. Molding. It’s really fun and you should enjoy this moment. The smell was not that bad but still you need to hold your breath. Hahaha…

After that barulah korang buat xray. Akak buat xray dekat HTAA sbb dekat klinik yang akak buat ni de lagi mesin tu masa ni. So, make sure korang call dulu hospital tu sbb ada kalanya mesin tu rosak. Xray pun fun jugakk…hahaha…The machine will move around your head. Cabut gigi ikut korang lah nak cabut dekat government or swasta punya klinik. If you can, cabut gigi tu cepat2 kalau nak pakai braces cepat. I found that cabut gigi pun best…waaaa…hahaha…tp lepas cabut tak best lah, sbb asyik berdarah and you lose your precious teeth…uwaaaaa…Tapi masa kene inject dengan ubat bius, sakit sikit je. You feel that your lip ‘getting bigger’ and rasa kebas.  Masa dentist nak cabut gigi tu, you can feel that the tooth root taken out from your gum and that feels really good. If you lucky,  you will hear a ‘crack’ sound from it. Dentist tu mesti akan cakap, “ni sakit sikit ye”, but you know what, you takkan rasa apa2 sebab ubat bius tu kuat…so, wak lek je mase tngh cabut tu.

Ni lah mesin tu. Korang kene berdiri tau and kena pakai satu vest/baju besi warna biru untuk halang kesan radioaktif dkt badan korang. As we know, nak buat xray kena cabut baju(for muslimah make sure korang pakai scarf yang ade neck tu) Photo by : Google

Next appointment, korang akan dipakaikan separator dekat each gigi geraham. Total akan ada 8 separators.  Ianya sejenis getah warna biru yang berfungsi untuk menjarakkan gigi geraham dengan gigi sebela dia supaya ada ruang sikit. Difficulty yang korang akan hadapi masa ni ialah, getah tu akan tercabut. So hati2, ye sbb akak ade tertelan satu getah tu sbb die dah nak tercabut, so akak baiki sikit but  at the end, die tercabut terus. Hahaha…this time pun sakit jugak.

This is SEPARATOR... usually warna dia adalah biru (this picture a little bit weird sbb separator biasanya akan dipasang selepas cabut gigi,maybe this patient masalah gigi dia xteruk mana and no need to do an extraction kot)

After a week, separators tu akan dibuang dan tempat jarak tu akan digantikan dengan band. Band ni sejenis besi that will be located dekat gigi geraham. Xsakit pun sebab dah ada ruang so dia akan duduk situ diam2 selama korang pakai braces.

Before pasang band, dentist akan try satu2 band dkt gigi kite sbb band ni ade size. Like me, because my gigi geraham besar lah jugak, they need to use the large one but that's too large so they will put some glue(idk it hahah)  in them so, it'll stick together at my teeth.

Nak ke next appointment, korang kena tunggu a month lebih2 sikit. So, it’s called as bond up.

yeayyy...korang dah smpai dekat final braces processing!!! It takes time almost 30 minutes to one hour and yaaa, it's so tired when there's (that white clear things in the picture above) force you to open your mouth. other tips, pakai lip balm because after bond up ni, bibir korang totally kering and akan merekah sbb lama sngt menganga...

Hope korang pun dapat rasai nikmat braces ni k. Tapi jangan lah pakai sbb nak lawa je, betulkan niat tu dulu kan jatuh haram sbb apee...Sbb Nabi haramkan para wanita yang mencukur kening dia, berpakaian seperti lelaki serta MENGUBAH APA YANG TELAH ADA PADA DIRI MEREKA(termsasuklah ubah kedudukan gigi or menyambung rambut or pakai bulu mata palsu) tanpa sebab yang diizikan. So, in making yourself beautiful,make sure you be smart too...
